Building and Construction Materials Department

The department main goal is to assure the quality of the material used in the construction of irrigation and drainage structures by conducting the necessary standard tests programs. Also, testing the available local materials and designing concrete mix are among the responsibilities of this department. It conducts programs aiming at improving the properties of construction materials to best suit the local working conditions. The department is also involved in studying the degradation of the construction materials used in the existing irrigation and drainage structures and suggesting the proper methodology to rehabilitate them.
